Where to Find Beast Cores in Slayers 2
To obtain Beast Cores in Slayers 2, you must hunt specific enemies known as Beast Born Demons. Unlike other materials that might come from chests or vendors, these cores are exclusive drops from this specific enemy type.
The most critical factor in your search is the time of day. Based on player reports, Beast Born Demons exclusively spawn during the night. If you arrive at the farming location during the day and find the area empty, you will need to wait for the night cycle to begin or hop to a different server where it is currently nighttime.
Best Farming Locations and Routes
The most consistent farming area is located east of Mistfall Harbor and south of the Bamboo Grove Sanctuary. You can identify these enemies by their distinct white and pink robes.
To farm efficiently, follow this route:
- Start at the Cliffs: Begin your search on the upper grassy cliffs east of Mistfall Harbor.
- Move to the Village Paths: Drop down toward the village areas. These enemies spawn along the paths and near the red torii gates.
- Check the Cave: If you also need Demon Horns, check the cave under the "Mother Bear" location. It often contains clusters of these demons, allowing you to farm both materials simultaneously.
- Loop the Area: After clearing the cliffside and the village paths, circle back to the start. The respawn timer is generally fast enough that the first wave will return by the time you complete a full circuit.
Setting your spawn point at a nearby village is highly recommended. Because you are farming at night, you may occasionally encounter stronger enemies or other players. Having a spawn point nearby allows you to jump right back into the action without running across the map again.
Understanding Drop Rates and Requirements
Beast Cores are essential for your character progression, specifically if you are aiming to unlock Serpent Breathing. According to current community requirements, you will need 5 Beast Cores alongside 20 Demon Horns and a Level 25 requirement to complete the quest given by Obari.
Be cautious of guides claiming specific drop percentages like 10%, 20%, or 50%. The developers have not released an official drop rate for Beast Cores. Player observations suggest a rate of approximately one core per three kills, but this is an estimate, not a guaranteed mechanic. Do not be discouraged if you experience a dry spell; simply continue clearing the spawn loop.
How to Confirm Your Drops
Because Beast Cores are automatically added to your inventory upon a successful drop, you do not need to manually pick up items from the ground after defeating a Beast Born Demon.
If you are unsure if you have received one, simply open your inventory menu after a few kills. If your count has not increased, stay in the area and continue the farming loop. There is no need to switch locations; persistence is the most effective way to reach your goal of 5 cores.
